Everest Short Trek/Short Trek to Everest is a uniquely designed package for people who want to experience Everest during their short vacation. Many people wish to see Everest from a distance, but they do not have enough time to go all the way to Everest Base Camp or even to a ten-day trek to Tengboche Monastery. As a result, Everest Short Trek became a viable option.
The Short Trek to Everest starts with an exciting 45-minute mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, and from Lukla, we trek along the Dudh Koshi River, passing through Phakding, to reach the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar on the second day. Namche Bazaar is a business hub since many centuries ago and is one of the active and lively towns within the Everest region. The ridge above Namche offers an extraordinary view of Everest and other mountains in Khumbu. This is a very scenic route, offering a face-to-face superb view of the world's highest peaks, including Mt. Everest (8848.86 m), Amadablum, Lhotse, Nuptse, and many other mountains. Everest Short Treks/ Short Trek to Everest provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the Everest region's Sherpa communities and settlements, its ecosystem, and its ancient Tibetan Buddhist culture.
The Short Trek to Everest (5–6 days) provides the mountains and villages of Khumbu, a beautiful mountain panorama, and an interesting cultural experience in the Sherpa homeland without requiring any high-altitude effort. Routes for the Everest Short Trek/Short trek to Everest follow Kathmandu → Lukla →Phakding → Namche → Lukla → Kathmandu route map. The Everest Panorama Tengboche Trek, the Rapid Everest Base Camp Trek, and the Everest Base Camp Trek with Helicopter Return are all available.
Welcome from Mountain Guide Trek staffs upon your arrival in Nepal. After check-in, if time allows, you will visit the MGT office to meet your trekking leader as well as other participants for final preparation of the trip. (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)
We travel to the airport early in the morning for the trip to Lukla. It is a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to fly into Lukla. Further, you will trek to Phakding for views of Kusum Kangaru and a green landscape. (Stay the night at a tea house with a full board)
As we start ascending through the alpine forest (woods of Himalayan pine and Deodar ), we will follow the tracks near the Dudh Kosi river up to the renowned village of Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazzar is a historic and commercial settlement of Sherpa people living in the Everest region. Namche Bazaar is often called the "gateway to Everest" because it opens a door for hikers and mountaineers to the world-famous mountain Mt. Everest (8848.86). Moreover, it is a great spot to shop for traditional goods. (Overnight stay at the tea house with full board.)
After a long trek back on this day, we'll arrive at Lukla airport (Tenzing-Hillary airport). The trekking begins with a long descent and a walk back to Monju and Ten Phakding for lunch after crossing the river. The trekkers will be enjoying the lush green scenery of the Everest region as they pass through the incredible mountains and local Sherpa communities. After a long walk of 7-8 hours, the team will arrive at Lukla. If time allows, you'll walk around the neighborhood. Until then, the guide will confirm our flight ticket, for your next-day flight back to Kathmandu. You will have a final "celebratory dinner" with our crew members at Lukla after a memorable Everest short trek or short trek to Everest. (Overnight Teahouse accommodation)
If the weather is fair, you fly back to Kathmandu early in the morning after your long mountain journey. After 30 minutes, you will arrive at the domestic airport in Kathmandu. We will send a private car, van, or bus to pick you up at the hotel, and then you can rest and relax throughout the day in the hotel if you don't have any necessary things to do! Remember, we will be hosting a fantastic "farewell dinner" at a traditional Nepalese restaurant with Mountain Guide Trek staff for the successful completion of the Everest short trek! (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)
This is the last day in Nepal for your trip; you are saying goodbye to the mountains and hills as the journey in Nepal comes to an end today. You won't have much to do except send emails to your traveling companions and organize your photos. If you have more time, you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight, a representative from Mountain Guide Treks will take you to the airport.
Please note that often the Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu flight gets delayed by a few hours or may even be canceled for one, two, or more days due to bad weather conditions. Therefore, in such cases, you must be prepared for long waits both at Kathmandu and Lukla airports, as this can happen either at the start or end of the trek or even both! We do our utmost to avoid such delays and fix you on the next flight. Still, we suggest you be prepared for possible delays or cancellations and, if possible, come with some extra buffer days (1-2 days) at the end of the trip to accommodate such delays. Helicopter rescue is also possible if requested by our clients. If the flight delay or cancellation occurs at the beginning of the trip and lasts long enough to disrupt your onward travel plans, you are free to choose another alternative trip. A trek in the Annapurna, Langtang, or any other region could be an alternative trip for you. If you are not interested in alternative packages, you can directly fly back to Kathmandu.
Everest Short Trek is relatively simple than the Everest Base Camp trek and it is convenient for the beginning trekkers. It means you do not reach the Everest Base Camp (5364m) during the trek. You normally trek 5-6 hours a day up to Namche Bazar(3440m) to feel the greatness of Everest and its surrounding. And finally, you return to Kathmandu from Lukla. It is considered one of the short and easy treks in the Everest region which you can accomplish even with moderate level physical fitness and basic training.
Everest short trek is a simple package targeted for trekkers who want to explore the Everest region within a limited time frame. Everest short trek package offers visitors the classic Arial views of the Everest region and the mighty Himalayan range. Moreover, the trekkers walk through part of Sagarmatha National Park which is a UNESCO world heritage site. Normally trekkers reach Namche Bazzar and return back to Kathmandu from Lukla airport. It lasts for 6 days including your arrival and farewell in Kathmandu.
Everest Short Trek doesn't demand much equipment and gear as it is one of the easiest treks within the Everest region. The package is suitable for the spring and autumn season because it provides the best views of Himalayan landscapes and makes your journey memorable. You can view most of the mountain peaks above 8000m during your mountain flight to Lukla from TIA (Tribhuwan Int. Airport). Though spring and autumn are the best seasons for the Everest Short trek you should be packed up with warm clothes to avoid cold in Lukla, Phakding, and Namche Bazaar. Do not overload yourself as you will be trekking for 6-7 hours a day.
If you have already been to the Everest region, taking a guide is not compulsory but it is generally recommended to all trekkers for their safety. If you are a novice, it is compulsory to take a guide with you. It is because you are not used to the adverse terrain, climatic situation, and accommodation of this region. Moreover, the Everest region trek is one of the most challenging treks in the world. Lukla airport, alpine forest, rough cliff walk, number of teahouses, and hotel for lunch on the way, make Everest short trek difficult.
The Everest Short trek is a relatively more reasonable trek than other trips in the Everest region. You can go on Everest region treks, which include the packages like (Everest Short Trek, Gokyo Lake Trek, Everest Base Camp trek, Everest Circuit Trek, and Chola Pass Trek) with a low budget. If you are with a proper plan to explore the Everest region, the trek cost ranges from 1000 USD- 1800 USD per person depending upon the trek route and the days you spend there. Moreover, the cost also depends upon the climatic conditions, the value of dollars in the world economy, and its effect on Nepal. With around 1000 USD you can sum up your 6 days long Everest Short Trek package.
