FAQ's

Poon Hill is located at an altitude of 3210 m from sea level. Our body starts feeling cold from the height of 1300-1500m. Moreover, Poon Hill (hill station) is a frigid and windy viewpoint, from where you can have a clear view of the whole Annapurna mountain range, Dhaulagiri and Manaslu. Winter is a bit colder and summer is rainy. Spring and Autumn offer you a good panoramic view and have a suitable climate. Being at a height above 3000+m gives you a different vibe and your body reacts differently. Altitude sickness is less likely to happen in this region but you should pack warm clothing such as a warm hat, warm jacket, and gloves, to avoid cold and wind.

The Ghorepani Poonhill short trek is one of the short and easy hikes in Nepal. Besides, it is one of the most popular hiking destinations within the Annapurna circuit. The trek route has several destinations (Kathmandu-Pokhara-Ulleri-Ghorepani-Poon Hill- Tadapani-Ghandruk) to accomplish and takes more than a week to complete. The visitors have to carry their essential gear (sleeping bags, warm clothes, Down Jackets, Medical kits, and so on).  Moreover, the guide has a proper understanding of the route, hotels, and tea houses. In peak season it is difficult to find the proper accommodation for you unless they are pre-booked. For several reasons, it is a good idea to hire a trekking guide and a porter.
