About Jomsom to Muktinath Trek

In the Annapurna circuit, one of the most well-known hiking routes is the Jomsom Muktinath trek. Exploring the Tibetan plateau is the main purpose of this expedition. It is also regarded as the entrance of the Upper Mustang, which is where the Tibetan border begins. While trekking in this region, you will be able to see a variety of mountains, including Mount Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mount Annapurna I (8091m), Mount Nilgiri (7040m), Mount Annapurna South (7219m), Mount Annapurna II (7937m), Mount Annapurna III (7555m), Mount Annapurna IV (7525m), Mount Hiunchuli (6441m), Mount Fishtail, also known as Machhapuchhare (6998m), Tukuche peak (6920m), Lamjung Himal (6586m) among others.

In addition to admiring the snow-capped mountains, you may also learn about the many cultures of the local ethnic groups, including the Bramin, Chhetri, Thakali, Magar, and Gurung, as well as take in the stunning scenery. Due to your excursion to Muktinath, which is a popular destination for pilgrimages for both Hindus and Buddhists, this trip is also regarded as a pilgrimage trekking tour.

The Jomsom to Muktinath trek begins at Jomsom, a significant commerce hub in the lower Mustang, and travels north to Kagbeni along the Kali Gandaki River, the deepest gorge in the world, before continuing on to Muktinath Temple. It departs from Marpha hamlet, which is known for its apple brandy, after passing through a number of beautiful Thakali native towns. While participating in Annapurna trekking, you can take pleasure in taking a shower at Tatopani (a natural hot spring), visit Ghorepani Poon hill to see the dawn over the mountain and get a birds-eye perspective of several Himalayan pathways, then take the same journey back to Jomsom before flying to Pokhara. Another choice is to walk from Jomsom to Ghandruk, the main hamlet of the Gurung ethnic group, where you can enjoy fantastic views of the Annapurna South and Machhapachare. From there, you can then board a vehicle and travel to Pokhara and then Kathmandu.

If you have unlimited time to explore the Annapurna region, the Annapurna Circuit Trek, the Ghorepani Poonhill Trek, the Annapurna Base Camp, or the Upper Mustang Trek would be suitable for your trip. Itinerary

Day 1: Touch down at Kathmandu's Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) (1300m)

Welcome to Mountain Guide Trek of Nepal and a hearty Namaste. A Mountain guide Treks representative will welcome you when you arrive (MGT). Pick up your bags and look for our representative at the arrival gate with a Mountain Guide Treks and Expedition display board with the name of the Group leader after finishing your customs formalities (Visa, etc.). After that, you will be taken to the hotel. If there is time after check-in, you will go to the MGT office to meet the other travelers and your hiking guide as well as to make any last-minute preparations for the trip. Your arrival time will determine everything. (BB base, one night in a luxury hotel).

Day 2: A 25-minute flight connects Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Start your journey early at 7:00 am and fly to Pokhara in 30 minutes as scheduled. A city that provides us with a breathtaking view of many mountains, including Machhapuchre, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and others in the Annapurna range. You have a wonderful opportunity to finish up some shopping and go exploring on your own around the neighborhood (walk around a few lakes, boating, etc). (BB base, one night in a luxury hotel).

Day 3: Travel by 1-hour drive to Nayapul and hike to Tikhedhunga (1540m) 3-4 hrs.

Today, we make the quick drive to Nayapul, the start of the trek. The trail proceeds to Birethanti along the River after some quick preparation of the luggage for the porters and personal preparation. Following a brief check-in procedure at the ACAP headquarters, the path takes you past a number of rural communities up to Tikhedhunga while providing beautiful views of Burundi Khola. (Full-board accommodation in a tea house overnight)

Day 04: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (3194m) 5-6 hrs

Following breakfast, we get ready for the arduous ascent to Ulleri, which has 3200 stone steps and a breathtaking view of the valley and the small range of Annapurna. This view inspires you to travel further and gives you the inner strength to ascend these stairs. A short distance from Ulleri, the trail takes you through a rhododendron forest, which is Nepal's national flower. The trail then continues on to Ghorepani, which is at the summit of the hill and offers spectacular views of both Dhaulagiri and the entirety of Annapurna. (Full-board accommodation in a tea house overnight).

Day 05: Hike to Poon Hill and trek to Tatopani (1190m) 6-7 hrs

Wake up early enough to see the sunrise, then walk an hour to Poon Hill to see the sunrise with mountains in the background. Take a picture from Poon Hill, then descend to the inn at Ghorepani. After breakfast, hike down to Tatopani. Beginning with a somewhat steep down to Chitre, there is then a relatively gradual fall to the settlement of Ghara, where you can stop for lunch. After taking a few steps to the bottom of the hill, you can cross a bridge over the Kali Gandaki River and enter Tatopani, where you can make use of the area's natural hot springs. (Full-board accommodation in a tea house overnight)

Day 6:Trek from Tatopani to Ghasa (2010m) 5-6 hrs

After breakfast at the lodge, you start your walk along the river's bank to Dana, the deepest gorge in the world that lies between Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Mountain. You will arrive at Rupse Chahara (Waterfall), the largest waterfall along this path, after crossing the suspension bridge at Dana. After it, the path leads to Ghasa. (Stay the night at a tea house with a full board).

Day 07:Trek Ghasa to Marpha (3500m) 5-6 hrs

The trail continues gently ascending to Kalopani, which offers stunning views of Dhaulagiri Icefall and Annapurna. To enter Tukuche, a well-liked Thakali village, one must simply stroll along the riverbank and cross a suspension bridge. Tukuche. The most picturesque village on the trail, Marpha, with its intriguing village settlement and apple garden, is reached after a little ascent. (Full-board accommodation in a tea house overnight).

Day 08:Trek Marpha to Kegbeni (2800m) 5-6 hrs

The route to Kagbeni is simple, level, and windy. To cross the Jomsom valley in this instance before the wind blows ferociously, we shall start early in the morning. To go to Kegbeni, you can easily spend the day strolling along the riverbank. Visit Red Gompa in the evening at leisure and stroll around the town's narrow lanes. (Full-board accommodation at a tea house overnight.

Day 09:Trek Kegbeni to Muktinath on day nine (3760m) 4-5 hours.
