At an elevation of 2563 meters, Shivapuri National Park's forest (160km2 ) offers one of the best four-day treks in all of Nepal. Shivapuri, the second-highest hill encircling the Kathmandu valley rim, is well-known for its watershed and wildlife habitat.The Shivapuri  conservation area comprises a dynamic subtropical and temperate environment whose beauty extends to nearby five districts Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Dhading, Nuwakot and Sindupalchowk. This trek, which commences in Budhanilkantha, is intended to give participants a taste of rural Nepalese living while also providing them with nice views of the country's central and eastern mountain ranges, as well as heavenly sunrise and sunset views.

In addition, the Shivapuri-Nagarjun National park, estd. 2002, is a home to 318 bird species 2122 flower species, 24 species of mammals including 9 endangered species. The wildlife area features historical monuments, religious and pilgrimage sites, and the trekking routes. The branches and shadows of enormous woods of rhododendron, oak on the north and chir pine, alder on the south are home to hundreds of mammals, including clouded Leopard, Himalayan Black Bear, Goral, Jungle Cat, Wild Boar, Barking Deer, Sambar, Golden Jackal,Assamese Monkey, and many more. 

The Shivapuri Chisapani Nagarkot Trekking offers panoramic views of the Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, and Jugal mountains. For those with limited time in Nepal, this trek is a particularly popular short trek. For both tourists and locals, this park provides a well-known hiking track and bicycle routes. In addition to Budhanilkantha, we have two more options for starting our trek: Sundarijal or the bypass Balaju. These entry spots are easily accessible by vehicle.

Itinerary

Day 01: Drive to Budhanilkantha and trek to Shivapuri (2732m) 3-4 hrs.

After having breakfast you drive to Budhanilakantha (30min) and from there you trek to Shivapuri where you can start observing the beautiful scenery of your surroundings. The trail forwards has spectacular views of mountains like Annapurna, Everest, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and Jugal Himal and reaches Shivapuri. (Overnight at tea house on BB basis)

Day 02: Trek Shivapuri to Chisopani (2300m) 5-6 hrs.

An uphill climb of 45 minutes takes us to the top of Shivapuri from the ridge there are fabulous Himalayan mountain views ranging from Everest to Manaslu, The trail goes along the ridge between the Shivapuri watershed and the fine green forest and beautiful forests with different kinds of birds and flowers,  After walking further you reach to Chisopani. (Overnight at tea house on BB basis)

Day 03: Trek Chisapani to Nagarkot (2100m) 5-6 hrs.

In the morning you will see heart-breaking snow-capped mountain views to the North.  You will have your breakfast then start trek to Chauki Bhanjag, will take approx 2 and half an hour's then we will have lunch here. After lunch, we will descend down to Nagarkot approx 3 hrs. On a clear day from Nagarkot, one can see the white Himalayan range, stretching from Dhaulagiri in the west all the way past Everest to Kanchenjunga in the east. (Overnight at tourist standard hotel on a full board basis)

Day 04: Trek Nagarkot to Changunarayan (3-4 hrs) and drive to Kathmandu 90 min.

On the first part, we will have trek to Changunarayan where we will see our van waiting for us. The most popular walk around Kathmandu leads down from Nagarkot along a ridge to the temple called Changu Narayan. Changunarayan offers you very nice views of Sankhu village to the right and the Bhaktapur area to the left. Changunarayan is situated at the end of a long ridge which runs well into the valley, it is said to have been built in 323 AD by King Hari Datta Varma. The temple is richly decorated with sculptures and carvings. It is said to be the oldest temple in the valley. After looking around the Changunarayan Temple, we will continue our journey to Kathmandu by a private van! Remember, we will be hosting a fantastic celebration "Farewell dinner" at a traditional Nepalese restaurant with Mountain Guide Trek staff for the successful completion of the Shivapuri Chisapani Nagarkot Trek! (Overnight at deluxe hotel on BB basis)

  • An experienced English-speaking trek leader (trekking guide), assistant trek leader (4 trekkers: 1 assistant guide) and Sherpa porters to carry luggage (2 trekkers: 1 porter) including their salary, insurance, equipment, flight, food and lodging.

Exclude
  • Nepal entree visa: you can get a visa easily upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu (a multiple-entry tourist visa good for 30 days can be obtained by Paying US $ 40 or equivalent foreign currency. Similarly, multiple-entry tourist visas for 90 days can be obtained by paying the US $ 100. Please bring 2 copies of passport-size photos.)
